The Pacifier

Over the weekend on March 27 2005, I watched the comedy The Pacifier with Vin Diesel for the 5:00pm showing at Coral Ridge Cinema 10. This is the first time I have seen Vin Diesel in a comedy, and his deadpan attitude actually did well in the role.

Overall, the film's content lacks much substance, but the story basically involves Vin Diesel as a Navy SEAL required to babysit a family of 5 for national security reasons. Some funny moments are splattered about in this relatively goofy and expected plotline with the funniest moments when characters comment upon Vin Diesel's physique. The youngest girl in the film at one point asks if he needs to wear a bra due to having breasts, and another character later on asks if he spent time in the pen. I didn't love the film or laugh a whole lot, but I think it deserves an okay for those kind of point blank, yet comedic questions alone.
